The Essex Historical Society and Shipbuilding Museum

The Essex Shipbuilding Museum, founded in 1976, is dedicated to the preservation of the industry and continued construction of these fine wooden vessels where they still play an integral part in our culture. My pictures are muted, which feel right in this town called Gloucester. Wood, iron, and stone have taken years of bombardment. I wanted to capture Wood, iron, and stone that have taken a bombardment of punishment from the sea.
